Evacuation Shelter

First Baptist Church of Haughton is your local shelter during the storms. They have teams on standby ready to assist you. If you are in need of shelter, please call (318) 949–2441 and leave a message for Mark Hagerhjelm. It is important that you leave a message as Mark will then open the shelter and activate the shelter’s teams. The shelter is available to you regardless of how late or early you are in need. Just call and let Mark know.

FEMA & Red Cross

Flood Buckets

Available for FREE! Flood Buckets have gloves, masks, trash bags, sponges, detergent, and more to help sanitize your home after a disaster. Please text/call us at (318) 615-9553.

 
 

Sandbags

Sandbags are available as needed at:

  • South Bossier Fire District #2, 1325 Robinson Rd. in Elm Grove, (318) 987–2555;

  • Haughton Fire District #1, 4494 Hwy 80, (318) 949–9440;

  • Haughton Fire Department, 120 W. McKinley Ave., (318) 949–9401;

  • Town of Plain Dealing, 205 W. Palmetto in Plain Dealing;

  • Dist. 2 fire station on Sligo Rd. (near Olde Oakes);

  • Elm Grove Elementary School. These sites will remain available as needed.

Damage Assistance

Early Response Teams are on standby to assist you with your damaged property. These trained teams of local volunteers can assist you with

  • sorting personal belongings,

  • removing debris and downed trees from your home and property,

  • removing water-damaged portions of your home,

  • and even help with recovery and reconstruction.

Take photos of all damaged properties before removing carpets, baseboards, debris, etc.

Coordinate debris pickup with the Bossier Parish Police Jury. They have a claw truck that can pick up debris road-side.
