Embrace exists to make disciple-makers who GO, embracing the world as our parish.
A disciple is someone who loves Jesus and loves like Jesus, replicating the life and mission of Jesus. This includes helping people become disciples of Jesus. Disciples make disciples who make disciples. A key part of a disciple is being a disciple-maker.
Life with Jesus isn’t passive. Jesus calls us as disciples to engage our communities and go to unchurched people with hope, love, truth, and grace. GO-ing is about sharing Good News and making new disciple-makers.
The World is Our Parish
In Louisiana, a parish is like a county. It's where we most identify beyond our street address and city. A parish houses both physical and spiritual homes. We embrace the world as our parish.
“I look upon all the world as my parish; thus far I mean, that in whatever part of it I am, I judge it meet, right, and my bounden duty to declare unto all that are willing to hear, the glad tidings of salvation.” —John Wesley, 1739
